BLB =0. Weeds- Volunteer corn, Wooly cup, Velvetleaf,
Lambsquarter.
6/12/04: Soybeans V2. No insects
reported. Heavy volunteer corn in northeast part
of field.
6/21/04: Soybeans V4.
No insects reported. Volunteer corn NE portion
of field.
6/28/04. Soybeans V5.
No insects reported. Volunteer corn and broadleaves
dying.
7/9/04. Soybeans R1.
No insects reported.
7/12/04. BLB=1. Bean
Leaf Beetle just starting in field.
7/22/04. Soybeans R2.
BLB = 1.4/sweep. First Generation Bean Leaf beetles
emerged but are still below Economic Threshold.
Will recheck next week. Aphids are still not showing
themselves.
7/28/04. BLB=1.7/sweep.
Aphids=.05/plant. BLB population has peaked.
Aphid population still increasing. BLB 2nd generation
may be treated in mid to late August.
8/6/04. Soybeans R4.
BLB=2.75/sweep. Soybean aphids=17.6/plant.
BLB populations did rise over last week. Aphids
are close to 20/plant average. Aphids are mostly
on the middle and upper part of the canopy scattered
around on leaflets. No concentrated colonies.
8/11/04. Soybeans R5.
BLB=.9/sweep. Soybean aphids=88/plant. BLB
counts are dropping fast. Aphid counts are increasing
faster.
8/18/04. Soybeans R5.
BLB=.2 /sweep. Soybean aphids =166/plant.
Aphids are increasing. An insecticide recommendation
has been made to control both aphids and 2nd generation
BLB. Soift bodied BLB are starting to emerge from
soil.
8/26/04. Soybeans R5.
BLB=.1/sweep. Soybean aphids = 2/plant.
Excellent aphid control. 1.5" of rain the
day after application. Some concern over the insecticide
residual for the BLB control. |
