CURRENT SCOUTING NOTES

6/4/04:  Soybeans V1.  No insects reported.  Some crusting has slowed emergence.  Grass & Broadleaves are 1/2" size.

6/10/04:  Soybeans V2.  No insects reported.  All beans have emerged.  Population has improved to 160,000ppa.  Grass and broadleaves are 1" to 1.5" in size, pressure is light.

6/21/04.  Soybeans V3.  Beans look healthy.  Weeds 2-3" size.  5" rain since last scouting.  Cobra/Select/Resource application planned when conditions allow.

6/25/04.  Soybeans V4.  Bacterial Blight noted.  0.4" rain since last scouting.  Herbicide application scheduled for this weekend. No insects reported.

7/3/04.  Soybeans R1.  No insects reported.  1" rain since last scouting.

7/8/04.  Soybeans R1.  1.2" Rain since last scouting.  Excellent weed  control.  Grape colopsis beetle feeding - low pressure.

7/18/04.  Soybeans R2.  No rain since last scouting.  Beans look healthy.

7/25/04.  Soybeans R3.  BLB = 12 per 20 sweeps.  No rain since last scouting.  Beans look healthy.

8/1/04.  Soybeans R4. BLB=13 per 20 sweeps.  Aphid=1/plant.  1.0" Rain since last scouting.  Some aphids in border plants only.

8/8/04.  Soybeans R4.  BLB=5 per 20 sweeps. Soybean Aphids = 15/plant.  No rain since last scouting.  BLB did not reach threshold.  Aphids have increased on about 30% of plants.

8/13/04.  Soybeans R5.  No BLB.  10 Soybean Aphids/plant.  No rain since last scouting.  Aphids per plant have decreased since last Sunday, but finding them on 50% of plants as compared to 30% last week.

8/22/04.  Soybeans R6.  Soybean aphids=42/plant.  1.0" rain since last scouting.  Crop looks good.

8/28/04.  Soybeans R6.  Soybean aphids=120/plant.  0.5" rain since last scouting.  crop looks good.
