SCOUTING NOTES |
| 6/2/04:
Soybeans VC. No insects reported. Some wooly
cupgrass starting on east end rows. Will not spray
glysophate yet. 2-3 acres drowned out.
6/9/04: Soybeans V1. No insects found.
Don't recommend spraying weeds yet.
6/16/04: Soybeans V2. This field has had
approximately 13 inches of rain in the last 3-4 weeks.
Soil wet - under a lot of moisture stress. Too
wet to scout properly this week.
6/23/04: Soybeans V4. No insects found.
Bacterial leaf blight on some of the lower leaves.
Iron Chlorosis over 10% of the field. Some drowned
out areas to be replanted. To be sprayed 6-24-04.
6/30/04. Soybeans V5. No insects found.
V5 - flowering. Some iron chlorosis. Taking
tissue sample in iron chlorosis affected area.
Beans look good with the exception of the drowned out
areas. I expect it to grow out of the iron chlorosis.
7/7/04. Soybeans R2. Field looking
better. Less iron chlorosis found. No insects
found. Some brown spot and bacterial blight.
7/19/04. Soybeans R1. No insects found.
Growing out of iron chlorosis. Waterhemp and grass
ready for 2nd spraying. Some bacterial blight
found on upper leaves.
7/30/04. Soybeans R3. No insects found.
Iron chlorosis is lessening. Weed control is working.
8/5/04. Soybeans R3. Some grasshoppers found
on the edges of field. Still some iron chlorosis
on north 1/2 of field.
8/11/04. Soybeans R4. No soybean aphids
or bean leaf beetles found. Some volunteer corn.
Still some iron chlorosis.
8/19/04. Soybeans R5. Soybean aphid=2/plant.
Some plants with a few aphids per plant, but not all
plants.
8/25/04. Soybeans R5. Soybean aphids=1/plant.
