CURRENT SCOUTING NOTES

6/1/04:  Soybeans VE.  No insects reported.

6/12/04:  Soybeans VC   Field planted May 24 and May 31. No-till, Minimum Till, and Conventional Till.  demo area Cruiser SAI + Apron Maxx, Gaucho SAI +Apron Maxx, AprinMaxx, Colorant.  Check emergence.  Very uniform across all treatments.

6/20/04:  Soybeans V1.  No insects reported.  Rain 1.75" for week.

7/2/04:  Soybeans V3.  No insects reported.  Notill beans and conventional till beans at same growth stage.  Bot look uniform.  Some ponding after recent rains.

7/13/04.  Soybeans V5.  No insects reported

7/18/04.  Soybeans R1.  No insects reported.

7/25/04.  Soybeans R2.  BLB = 2 per 20 sweeps.  Some Grasshoppers.  Second application of Roundup to no-till beans.  Conventional till are still clean.  30" rows starting to close.  15" rows at canopy.  Yellowing decreasing in IDC area, increasing in SCN area.

8/3/04.  Soybeans R3.  No insects.  Sunday .8", Monday .7", Tues (am) 3.5", Tues. (pm) 2.5".

8/16/04.  Soybeans R3.  BLB=2 per 20 sweeps.  Soybean Aphid = 3/plant.  Beans look excellent.  Still new growth and flowering.

8/27/04.  Soybeans R6.  Nice 1.5" rain 8/26/04 little wind.  Beans finally closing rows well.
