On-Farm Network® 2009 strip trial results to be presented in four area meetings

Growers working with the Iowa Soybean Association On-Farm Network® successfully completed more than 500 trials in 2009, on more different soybean and corn topics than in any of the previous 10 years of organized replicated strip trial work.
Some of the topics these trials focused on included:
• Fungicides and application timing on soybeans and corn
• Nitrogen fertilizer application rates
• Nitrogen fertilizer form comparisons
• Nitrogen fertilizer application timing comparisons
• Using a nitrification inhibitor with UAN
• Using residual herbicides with glyphosate in beans
• Sulfur supplementation
• Manure application rates
• Nitrogen stabilizer use with manure
• Foliar fertilizers, including foliar nitrogen for corn
